Lot of 4 Dell PowerEdge T20 servers perfect for learning Nutanix clustering

Up for sale is a cluster of 4 Dell PowerEdge T20 servers (pictured) loaded to the gills with 32GB of ECC RAM, an Intel G3220 3.0GHz processor, a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD, and a 500GB WD Enterprise hard drive (NL-SAS, I believe). There’s a 1Gb onboard NIC included, and room to upgrade if necessary. Messy cabling is NOT included! All you have to do is join the Nutanix Community Edition (CE) program, download the bits, load them on your flash drive, edit a file to let it load on dual core processors, and you’re good to go! Boot from your newly created USB drive, hit a few buttons to start the install, make a sandwich, and come back to a fully configured Nutanix cluster. It’s much simpler than it seems, and the Nutanix UI aims to compete more with Amazon Web Services than it does with VMware. Speaking of VMware, this setup should support VSAN as well, if you had the license for it and wanted to try that. I’ve not run VSAN on this, though, so can’t promise that it’ll work. FAIR WARNING: The Pentium CPU in these units is extremely weak. Do NOT expect performance from this cluster. It works fine for the light workloads that I threw at it. However, it is primarily good for learning the interface and how performant the cluster software is under high CPU stress. In any case, if you’re looking at this, you probably already know what you want. I’m happy to help you get started down the road to your Nutanix cluster if you have any questions about the initial setup. Let me know if you have any questions about the listing.
